If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor, nurse or Emergency Care Paramedic may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
Due to our workload we may only attempt to call you once, it is at your own risk if you leave us a mobile phone number that may lose signal or you may be unable to answer and we are not able to call you back. Again we cannot guarantee a call back and if you are not in or are unable to answer the call from the surgeries we will not guarantee a call back and you will have to call the surgery to rearrange a phone call.
Sometimes, especially at very busy times, we use the North Herts Acute In-Hours Visiting Service to carry out home visits for us. House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
