In October every year, we organise specially run clinics for flu vaccination and we will contact those in the at risk groups in advance. If you believe you should be vaccinated but have not heard from us, please contact the surgery.
Who should be immunised?
The surgery has a policy to vaccinate as many people as possible over the age of 65 or in the following at risk groups. Those suffering from:
- a serious heart or chest complaint, including serious asthma
- diabetes
- serious kidney disease
- or lowered immunity due to disease or treatment such as steroid medication or cancer treatment.
Health and social care workers caring for patients or the elderly should also be vaccinated.
If you work in hospital, primary health care or social care, contact your employer for details of where to get vaccinated.
