Welcome to Ashwell Surgery Online

Ashwell Surgery The doctors and staff at Ashwell Surgery are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.

The practice covers the village of Ashwell with the surrounding villages of Hinxworth and Newnham in Hertfordshire, and Bassingbourn in South Cambridgeshire with the surrounding villages of Litlington, Steeple Morden, Guilden Morden, Abington Pigotts and Kneesworth.

The main surgery is in Gardiners Lane, Ashwell at the edge of the village, built on the site of an old barn in 1989. The surgery is purpose built and is fully equipped to undertake a large variety of medical services.

There is a branch surgery at Bassingbourn in Spring Lane, which was purpose built in 1992 and extended in 2011. There is at least one surgery each weekday and the surgery is well equipped to undertake most of the activities of the main surgery. The practice is fully computerised and the two surgeries are linked. Blood tests are taken at both surgeries by the phlebotomist or the practice nurse, and pathology specimens are collected several times a day for delivery to the hospital.

We have two sessions available for flu vaccinations on Saturday 8th October.

Morning session - 8:30am - 11:30am

Afternoon session - 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Please contact the surgery to book an appointment if you fall into the eligible criteria for a free flu vaccination.

Dr Blake - Currently on long-term sickness leave

Unfortunately Dr Blake will be absent from the practice due to long term sickness.  We are currently doing our best to ensure all patients are seen as quickly as possible but we appreciate there has been an effect on our appointment availability.

We now have some locum GPs coming in to assist the practice which will of course, assist with further appointments.

We would like to thank all our patients for their understanding during the past few weeks.  We endeavour to provide a normal service but we appreciate your understanding if there are occasions where we have been unable to cover some of the practice sessions as we would like.

Please check our website regularly for any further updates.

Online services will be restarting shortly following the change over to a new clinical system recently.

We appreciate it has been inconvenient during this time but as soon as this has moved forward we will inform all our patients so they can re-register under SystmOne (our new system)

We thank you all for your patience and understanding.
